ALL INCLUSIVE: COACHING + PD

WHO IS IT FOR?

District or school teams who want to make an impact on literacy outcomes by pairing content knowledge with coaching support.

WHAT IS IT?

Six professional development sessions focused on refining participants’ content knowledge of the Science of Reading and addressing our associated emotions that we experience in the process. Paired with strategic coaching sessions, classroom observations and data analysis for instructional leaders.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

Professional development sessions focused on building participants’ content knowledge of the Science of Reading that addresses the emotions we experience in the process.

  • Participants will start with “the why”, setting a vision and establishing their story.

  • Participants will learn or stamp previous learning about the research of reading: Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Advanced Phonics, Fluency, and Early Reading models

  • Participants will explore ways to address the complex emotions that develop when we implement change throughout each session, including the following topics: Having the Permission to Feel, Exploring Vulnerability, and Shame Resilience.

 

Coaching sessions with leadership team:

  • Instructional leaders will level-set expectations, learn to create safe spaces for learning and determine a coaching cycle plan.

  • Follow up meetings will discuss feedback, roadblocks, answer questions and celebrate successes.

  • Together, we will create a sustainable coaching plan that facilitates safe learning and practice for teachers.

HOW WILL WE WORK TOGETHER?

We will meet on agreed upon dates during the engagement - this can be in-person or conducted virtually. Between sessions, we will communicate regularly using Vox or email to discuss feedback or roadblocks, answer questions and celebrate.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

 Combine content knowledge with coaching support, systems of ongoing learning that make professional development results last, clarity on how children learn to read.
