STRATEGIC INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING
WHO IS IT FOR?
District leaders, District coaches, School leaders, instructional coaches, and teacher leaders
WHAT IS IT?
Coaching sessions paired with classroom observations and data analysis focused on creating safe environments for feedback and to grow the connection between research and practice.
Twice monthly 90-minute coaching sessions
Sessions will work with instructional leaders to create safe spaces in which teachers can be vulnerable during their practice, improve instructional practices and curriculum implementation, and focus on solving adaptive challenges.
LRC will use protocols to structure the time, including opportunities for celebrations, learning and feedback, case studies, and feedback on roadblocks.
At least one classroom observation and debrief session per month
HOW WILL WE WORK TOGETHER?
We will meet on agreed upon dates during the engagement - this can be in-person or conducted virtually. Personalized agendas and resources will be housed digitally and shared with the team. Together we will visit classrooms to observe and debrief reading instruction to practice instructional coaching approaches. Classroom visits can be conducted in-person or virtually. Between sessions, we will communicate regularly using email to discuss feedback or roadblocks, answer questions and celebrate.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Confidence in personalized coaching, strategies for sustainable coaching systems, foundations in differentiated coaching.
“I learned to start from a coaching position and then assess where to provide the right level of support. It was helpful for me to get a clear understanding of when to calibrate, consult, or to collaborate.”
